The PhD thesis "Doctors' contextualization of clinical information" is based on an analysis of the concept of context and of the importance of contextual clinical information. On this basis, supplemented by two empirical studies of doctors’ use of clinical information, the thesis shows the limitations of reuse of clinical information. The thesis demonstrates a method for mapping and visualization of doctors’ gathering of relevant data and outlines the possibility of developing interactive clinical decision support.

PhD-afhandlingen "Lægers kontekstualisering af klinisk information" tager udgangspunkt i en analyse af kontekst-begrebet og af konteksts betydning for anvendelsen af kliniske oplysninger. Med dette udgangspunkt og på grundlag af to empiriske studier af lægers anvendelse af klinisk information belyser afhandlingen, hvorfor der er grænser for genbrug af kliniske oplysninger. Afhandlingen demonstrerer en metode til kortlægning og visualisering af lægers indsamling af relevante oplysninger og skitserer muligheden for at udvikle interaktiv klinisk beslutningsstøtte.
