Biographical  Information 

Hans Schaffers currently is lecturer Strategy at the Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands. His main areas of interest are management of innovation and organizational change, digitalization and work, and human and societal implications of technological change. He received his PhD in Engineering Sciences at University of Twente, The Netherlands, specializing in computer-assisted planning and decision-making in large-scale water systems. Thereafter he worked as Assistant Professor in Finance at Erasmus University Rotterdam; as Senior Researcher in Strategy, Technology and Policy at the Netherlands’ national research organization TNO; as Chief Operations and International Affairs officer as well as leader of the research group on Cooperative Workspaces at the Telematics Institute; as Visiting Professor and Research Director at the Centre for Knowledge and Innovation Research at Aalto University School of Business in Helsinki, Finland; as Research Professor in Digital Business Innovation at Saxion University of Applied Sciences; and as coordinator for Science, Management and Innovation projects at Radboud University Nijmegen. He has a broad experience as project coordinator in European research and innovation framework programmes, focusing on topics such as smart technologies, collaborative working environments, collaborative networked organizations, open innovation, urban and regional development, future internet testbeds and living labs, and industrial innovation.
